The CSA Majors Trophy -A New Trophy, A Grand Finale

The BVI Spring Regatta will be the final event in the new Caribbean Sailing Association (CSA) Majors trophy, a prestigious new championship recognizing top overall performance across the regions’ top five regattas: the RORC Nelson Series; RORC Caribbean 600; St. Maarten Heineken Regatta; Antigua Racing Cup; BVI Spring Regatta

Champions of the CSA Majors Trophy will be crowned at the BVI Spring Regatta, delivering a high-stakes finale to the core season. The new trophy joins the Budget Marine Windies Multihull Trophy and the Travellers Trophy in honouring boats that compete – and win – across the Caribbean race season.

CSA Travellers Trophy

The purpose of the Trophy is to award Effort (in travelling to away regattas) and Excellence (doing well) in Caribbean events. To qualify, a boat must do a minimum of three regattas of which at least one must be in an away region and at least one major event. A boat’s intention to do this should be declared with his initial entry at his first regatta and with the CSA. A boat may do as many regattas on the tour as desired and one can retrospectively decide to enter the competition even if a qualifying event has already been raced.

Travellers Trophy History

The CSA Traveller’s Trophy has been awarded for more than 20 years and was based loosely on the old Caribbean Ocean Racing Triangle which took place in the 80’s. Prior winners of the trophy include famous Caribbean sailors and those based in the region for the season such as Jamie Dobbs (who won the first three years), John Foster, Hugh Bailey, Bernie Evan-Wong, Dougie Myers, Tom Hill, Scott Ledbetter, Andrew Birk, Jaime Torres and of course Sandy Mair, the creator of the trophy. In 2019 and 2020 the trophy was won by Pamala Baldwin’s Liquid. Following COVID cancellations, events restarted in 2022 with the winners being Tristan Marmousez, GFA Caraibes – La Morrigane & in 2023 the trophy was awarded to Jean Francois Terrien’s Sang Neuf.

In 2024 the award was won by Germaine Williams Escapado which raced in every single event on the regatta circuit and ended with a class win at ASW racing under the name Strada Geothermal & in 2025 Katy Campbell won with Panacea X.

CSA Windies Travellers Trophy

The Budget Marine Windies Multihull Trophy new was designed By Guy Chester in 2025 to encourage offshore multihulls to participate in more Caribbean regattas and offshore passage events.

The Budget Marine Windies Multihull Trophy includes some of the most prestigious events in the Caribbean regatta circuit, such as the Barbados Sailing Week, the Rum to Spice Race, Grenada Sailing Week, the Caribbean Multihull Challenge, the Antigua 360°, the RORC Caribbean 600, the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta, the BVI Round Tortola Race, the BVI Spring Regatta, Antigua Racing Cup, and many more.

The championship consists of two divisions: multihulls with a length overall (LOA) of less than 60 feet, and those with an LOA of 60 feet and above. All multihulls that have made passages between the events under their own power or sail are eligible and will be automatically entered.
