First used in high-performance events like the America’s Cup and Sail GP, robotic buoys, BOTS, are now used in many international regattas and will be used on the VX One course during the 2025 BVI Spring Regatta (BVISR), the second leg of the VX One Caribbean Cup.

The Royal BVI Yacht Club hosted the event with Nanny Cay and rolled out its team of race management volunteers – many race-hardened veterans from many years of running the BVI Spring Regatta, and some enthusiastic newcomers – for the 44Cup

In the next few weeks, JAX, a custom 43’ performance wood and carbon sailboat owned by Oivind Lorentzen will ship from West Palm Beach, FL, to the Virgin Islands in time for the 2025 BVI Spring Regatta.
