Great Racing & Sighs of Relief as Conditions Mellow on Day 2, BVI Spring Regatta
Day 2 of racing in the BVI Spring Regatta saw few lead changes with teams at the top of their class holding firm. Perfect Caribbean conditions prevailed in the high teens under blue skies, which was a relief to competitors as they were able to switch from survival mode of the past few days to a more controlled mode.

Competition is a relative term but there are a ton of high-level sailors racing BVI Spring Regatta which begins on Friday for a three-day series of exhilarating racing in the stunning waters around the BVI.

Today was epic for the Round Tortola Race, the kick-off event for the BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival. Boats started in some 16 knots ENE breeze in five classes, and by the time they rounded Beef Island, it had built to 20 and continued to build to over 24+ throughout the afternoon. The sun shone; the sea condition was perfect – it was literally racing in paradise.

The docks at Nanny Cay Resort and Marina are full and ready to roll as ten classes prepare to race in the 51st edition of the BVI Spring Regatta and Sailing Festival. Racing starts with the Sailing Festival, a warm-up event, on Tuesday April 2 with the traditional Round Tortola Race, and on Wednesday April 3, the Scrub Island Invitational.
